Easy to reach by road, the hotel is just three miles from the picturesque seaside village of Portpatrick, known for its stunning views, and only eight miles from Stranraer and the ferry port of Cairnryan, with access to Northern Ireland.

Rated 5 stars by the AA and 4 stars by VisitScotland, luxury is guaranteed at Knockinaam Lodge. Privacy, seclusion and breathtaking views are all part of the experience as you enjoy the peace of the private cove, looking out to the Irish Sea. With 30 acres of stunning landscaped ground stretching down to the beach, there’s much to see and do, or you can just relax and appreciate the fabulous surroundings.

The intimate 10 bedroom hotel has a great history to tell. This historic hunting lodge has featured in John Buchan’s The 39 Steps, was the boyhood home of Royal Navy submarine ace Lieutenant Commander Malcolm David Wanklyn VC, and played a pivotal role as the secret meeting place for Churchill and Eisenhower as they planned the D-Day landings.
