Endsleigh, England

Endsleigh, England

Situated on the border between Devon and Cornwall in the Tamar Valley, Endsleigh is set in 100 acres of fairy tale gardens and quiet woodlands. There is no traffic or aircraft noise, no light pollution, just the calming sound of the Tamar river.

Designed 200 years ago, Endsleigh has 19 rooms each individually designed with uncluttered elegance. The generously-sized rooms are decorated in original hand-painted wallpapers, antique bathroom fittings and chairs upholstered in pretty florals. The furniture is a mix of old and new, with some unusual pieces of decorations.

Dinner is served in the original paneled dining room or outside under the shade of parasols. The cooking takes its inspiration from the surrounding countryside and in keeping with tradition, afternoon tea is the highlight of every day. Each afternoon, guests can enjoy an array of cakes, scones and delicious sandwiches, served at the library.

There are loads of historical places to visit around Endsleigh, but actually one could very easily spend a week simply walking around the beautiful gardens and grounds. Activities in the area include fishing, horseback riding, bird watching and many more.
